Applied Materials Announces Strategic Service Agreement with Brooks Automation

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 5, 2004--Applied Materials, Inc. (Nasdaq:AMAT) today announced an agreement with Brooks Automation, Inc., a leading supplier of automation solutions to the semiconductor industry. Under the arrangement, Applied Materials will provide on-site support and spare parts management for certain Brooks factory automation hardware products to achieve optimal performance and uptime in customer fabs. This program extends Applied Materials' world-class service and support capabilities beyond Applied's systems to better support semiconductor manufacturers worldwide.
